Hannah Braun-Allen has created a unique game for beaders and crafters, and those who would like to be. "Bead Trade" is a fun time for friends and family.

Hannah Braun-Allen of Hannah, Inc. has created a fun, educational, and wholesome game for friends and family to share. “Bead Trade” is more than just a game; it’s a social activity that brings people together.

The Game

“Bead Trade” can be played at homes, parties, bead stores, ladies’ nights, bead society meetings, barbeques—anywhere a small group of people can get together. Players can bring their own beads to wager or the host can provide everyone with a goody-bag.

“Bead Trade” comes with six different game boards that use bead terminology to direct play. There are two different ways to play; one is a bit more competitive than the other and is similar to poker. Beads are used to ante-up and can range in value from two cents to $100USD. The winner takes all at the end of each round.

In addition to the game boards, the game comes with 300 marker disks, 89 bead terminology disks, a nylon bag for “The Pot”, a tracking board, and instructions.

The Creator

Even when Hannah Braun-Allen was a little girl, her imagination was vivid. She used to pretend she was a mermaid, and she still uses shells in some of her designs today.

Hannah Braun-Allen began designing jewelry when she was in high school, and she has a passion for making glass beads and crafting original jewelry till this day. Hannah is also a lamp-work artist as well as a beading teacher in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Hannah’s original inspiration for the game came from a dream that woke her from a sound sleep. Hannah immediately began sketching every detail she could remember.

She spent nearly two years developing “Bead Trade” from her dream with support from her mother, husband and two daughters.

Hannah has applied for a patent for “Bead Trade,” the first hobby-related trading game ever invented. Hannah traded her bead knowledge for Katy Consultant's game-industry expertise. The first 10,000 games rolled off the presses in November 2007 at Color Craft Graphic Arts, a Manitowoc printer.

The Review

Almost all beaders have spare beads lying around. “Bead Trade” gives them an exciting way to make them very useful. But the best part of the game is the way it brings people together.

“Bead Trade” challenges its players to answer the question, “What are you willing to trade for the chance to win it all?” It provides players with a fun way to win a bounty of beads while playing a game made specifically for the beading community.

Bead sellers will be especially enthused about “Bead Trade.” It’s a brand new bead-related item that opens up opportunities to sell extra beads and bags of “strays.”

“Bead Trade” is available at The Bead Goes On, Bead Smith-Helby Imports, and the creator of the game’s website.
